Michigan's graduation rate amongst minority youth are one of the worst in the worst in the country.  African American, American Indian and Latino youth are twice as likely to drop out of school as white youth and African American youth are twice as likely as white youth to be pushed out of school through expulsion.
According to Michigan
Department  of Community Health, July 2008 quartley report HIV/AIDS analysis: 312 Minority youth between the ages of 13-19 where
diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, while 57 White youth were
diagnosed between the
ages of 13-19.

"These numbers are very alarming and it is time
that we put time into our youth to turn these
statistics around, our youth need to realize
that they are worth so much more"
